Make Sure Your Car’s Battery Is Good for Summer

Keep the Electricity Flowing

battery maintenance

As summer is here, it’s time to do some routine car maintenance. One of the things you should check is your vehicle’s battery. Summertime can lead to more battery issues than winter can because of the heat. Combined with any vibrations, this can lead to the battery breaking down inside and potentially causing failure. Check your car’s battery to make sure it is securely mounted. This will help eliminate any vibrations or rattling around. Also, check your battery’s terminals and connections for corrosion buildup, and make sure that the clamps are tight.

If your car’s battery is more than three years old, take it to a trained technician or your local auto-parts store to have it tested. They’ll be able to determine how much life the battery has left in it and if it is time for a replacement.
